Back in 1986, when we first started working with NALC Catahoulas, we never expected a dog as outstanding as Job. After all, his sire wasn't too spectacular to look at, and his dam was a black brindle. However, when Job was born, we knew he was special! When we took him to the vet for shots, we asked the vet to check him out fully. The vet nonchalantly told us that he looked fine. We said, "But you don't understand, we think he is going to be a champion. So, if you will, make sure has a correct bite and good conformation." After giving us a "raised eyebrow" look, the vet did a thorough examination and just said he was okay.

Job continued to grow and mature and began to exhibit his outstanding personality. He is a very obedient dog; however, he gets good and tough just as his sire and dam do when they work cattle.

Job has been shown five times. With four different judges, Job took 4 First Places, one Reserve, and two Best of Shows. He did not place at all with one other judge. We could have left this part out, but we want to encourage all of you out there to show your dogs and get involved with the NALC and it's members. We have a wonderful time sharing information and ideas with other certified breeders, helping train dogs, and also encouraging newcomers to get involved with the NALC. We also encourage you to show your dogs at ACA shows.
